Things to do in Antiparos
Here’s everything you need to stop and see and all the things to do in Antiparos island!
Main Street in Antiparos Town
The heart of Antiparos Town is its lively main street, a charming pedestrian-only walkway lined with whitewashed buildings, bougainvillaea, and some seriously good shopping [Address: Antiparos 840 07, Greece]. By day, it’s a relaxed stroll-through kind of place—boutiques selling handmade jewellery, breezy linen clothes, and locally crafted ceramics. By night, it has that perfect holiday buzz, with tavernas setting up tables outside, fairy lights twinkling, and the scent of grilled seafood in the air.

If you’re after souvenirs that aren’t your typical touristy trinkets, this is the place to browse. There are little art galleries, shops selling Greek-made skincare, and stylish beachwear stores that will have you wanting to ditch half your suitcase just to make room. And of course, if all that shopping makes you thirsty, there are plenty of cafés and cocktail bars to take a break and soak in the island vibe.
The Rooster sunset bar

If you’re looking for the ultimate sunset spot in Antiparos, The Rooster is the place to be. Tucked away on the less touristy side of the island, this chic yet laid-back hideaway is all about effortless luxury—think earthy tones, candlelit tables, and panoramic sea views. The cocktails? Next level.
Whether you go for a perfectly mixed negroni or something refreshing with local citrus and herbs, everything here is made with serious attention to detail. It’s the kind of place where you sip slowly, let the sky turn fiery orange, and feel like you’ve unlocked a secret side of the island. Definitely not your average beach bar—this is Antiparos at its most magical. 🍸✨
Beach House
If you’re looking for a beachfront spot that nails the balance between laid-back and effortlessly stylish, Cookoovaya (Beach House) is it. Set right on the sand, this is the kind of place where you can roll straight from a sunbed to a long, lazy lunch without missing a beat.

The menu is all about fresh, seasonal ingredients—grilled seafood, colourful salads, and perfectly cooked meats, all with that simple but incredible Greek flavour. Pair it with a crisp glass of white wine or an icy Aperol Spritz, and you’re set for the afternoon. Also. Try their soft serve ice cream.
Farm Lunch & Cooking class – free with your villa booking
If you want to slow things down and experience the real flavours of Antiparos, a farm lunch is the way to go.

Yes, you can actually pluck fresh ingredients straight from the bushes at this rustic yet laid-back luxury farm. It’s the kind of experience that makes you slow down and appreciate the simple joys of food—picking sun-ripened tomatoes, snipping fresh herbs, and tasting just-made cheese, all while sipping on a glass of local wine.
The setting? A long wooden table under olive trees, surrounded by rolling farmland and the scent of wild basil in the air. No menus, no rush—just incredible, homegrown food, cooked with love and shared in good company. If you’re after something truly special in Antiparos, this is it.
Boat Trip Around Antiparos – Crystal-Clear Waters & Hidden Bays

If you want to see the most stunning, untouched side of Antiparos, a boat trip around the island is a must. This is where you’ll find those crazy-clear turquoise waters, secret sea caves, and completely empty bays that feel like your own private paradise.
Most boat tours take you to hidden gems like Faneromeni Beach, the Epitafios Sea Cave, and the small islets just off the coast, where the water is so transparent it looks unreal. Some trips even include a stop at Despotiko Island, so you can combine swimming with a bit of ancient history. Pack your swimsuit, bring a camera, and get ready for some of the bluest waters you’ll ever see. The best day trip out!
Agrilia Olive Oil Experience
If you love good olive oil (who doesn’t?), the Agrilia Olive Oil Experience is something you need to do in Antiparos. This isn’t just a quick tasting—it’s a deep dive into how some of the best Greek olive oil is made, from tree to bottle. You’ll walk through beautiful groves, learn about the harvesting process, and, yes, taste different varieties of their high-quality, cold-pressed olive oil.

The best part? You get to pair it with fresh-baked bread, local cheeses, and even a little wine, all while sitting under the shade of ancient olive trees. It’s a simple but unforgettable experience that makes you appreciate just how much love and tradition go into every drop. Perfect for food lovers or anyone who just wants to soak up that relaxed, farm-to-table island life.
Casa Fistiki
Casa Fistiki isn’t your typical Greek island taverna—it’s a fun, flavour-packed fusion of Mediterranean and Mexican cuisine, served up in one of the dreamiest waterfront settings in Antiparos. The food? Think fresh seafood with a spicy twist, zesty ceviches, and beautifully grilled meats with bold, punchy flavours. And the cocktails? Absolutely top tier—Try the classic margarita.

The best move? Grab a sunset drink in the laid-back seafront lounge, let the sky turn golden, then settle in for an open air feast under the stars. It’s one of those places where dinner stretches late into the night, with good vibes, great music, and the sound of the waves in the background.
Ancient Ruins of apollo on despotiko island
Just a short boat ride from Antiparos, Despotiko Island feels like a typical Greek island – hot, buzzing, full of flora. Completely uninhabited and untouched by modern development, it’s home to some of the most fascinating ancient ruins in the Cyclades. The highlight? The Sanctuary of Apollo—an archaeological site that’s still being uncovered, with marble columns and temple foundations dating back to the 6th century BC.

When I went, they were hosting an opera performance for one night only, right in the middle of the ruins. Imagine sitting under the stars, with ancient marble structures around you and live opera echoing across the island—it was absolutely surreal. They do sometimes hold events here so it’s best to keep an eye out when on the island.
Beyond the history, Despotiko is also just stunning. Think crystal-clear waters, quiet coves, and a raw, untouched landscape perfect for exploring. Most boat trips combine a visit to the ruins with plenty of time for swimming in hidden bays, so it’s the perfect mix of culture and relaxation. Definitely one of the most special experiences in Antiparos.
Visit a Beautiful Blue-Domed Church in Antiparos
You can’t come to Greece without admiring at least one of those iconic blue-domed churches, and Antiparos has some stunning ones tucked away in its whitewashed villages. One of the most picturesque is Agios Nikolaos, a classic Cycladic chapel with its bright blue dome standing out against the white stone and endless sea views.

It’s a peaceful spot, perfect for a quiet moment or just soaking in that postcard-perfect scenery. If you’re exploring the island, keep an eye out for other tiny chapels scattered along the coastline—some perched on cliffs, others hidden in the hills, all with that timeless Greek island charm.
Swim at Soros Beach
If you’re after a beach with sparkling turquoise water and a relaxed atmosphere, Soros Beach is the spot. It’s the largest beach on Antiparos, with soft golden pebbles, clear shallow waters, and plenty of space to stretch out.

You can go full-on lazy beach mode here—swim, sunbathe, repeat—or grab a lounger at one of the beach bars for a chilled afternoon with cocktails and seafood. The water is insanely clear, perfect for a refreshing dip, and the whole place has that effortless, low-key luxury vibe that makes you want to stay all day.
Boutique Shopping – Handmade Ceramics & Jewellery
Antiparos might be a small island, but its boutique shopping scene is full of hidden gems. If you love unique, handcrafted pieces, you’ll find beautiful ceramic studios and jewellery shops tucked along the main street in Antiparos Town.

Expect to see delicate gold and silver jewellery inspired by Greek mythology, stunning hand-painted ceramics, and stylish linen clothing perfect for that effortless island look. Many of the shops feature pieces made by local artists, so you’ll be taking home something truly one-of-a-kind. Definitely worth a wander—whether you’re looking for souvenirs or just a little treat for yourself!
Hike for Panoramic Views Over Antiparos
If you’re up for a little adventure, hiking in Antiparos is totally worth it—especially for those breathtaking panoramic views over the island and Aegean Sea. There are a few trails to choose from, but one of the best leads up to Agios Georgios and the surrounding hills, where you’ll get an epic lookout over Despotiko Island and the rugged coastline.
It’s not a super intense hike, but bring good shoes, water, and maybe a snack because you’ll definitely want to take your time soaking in the views. Sunrise and sunset hikes? Even better—the golden light makes everything look magical.
Antiparos Cave – A Jaw-Dropping Underground Wonder
Antiparos Cave is one of the most awe-inspiring spots on the island—an enormous underground cavern filled with ancient stalactites and stalagmites, some dating back millions of years. As you descend the 400+ steps into the cave, the temperature drops, and the formations get more and more surreal. It’s like stepping into another world.
There’s even history carved into the walls—literally. Famous visitors, including Greek generals and European royals, have left inscriptions here over the centuries. Definitely wear good shoes (those steps feel longer on the way back up), and get ready to be amazed. A must-see in Antiparos!
How to Get to Antiparos 🏝️
Getting to Antiparos is super easy once you know the drill! Since there’s no airport on the island, you’ll first need to get to Paros, then take a short ferry across. Here’s the breakdown:
✈️ Get to Paros: Fly to Athens or to paros island
- Fly to Paros (PAS): The easiest option! Paros has a small airport with flights from Athens (ATH) year-round and some seasonal flights from other Greek islands.
- Fly to Athens (ATH): If you can’t get a direct flight to Paros, land in Athens and take a ferry from Piraeus to Paros.
⛴ Get a Ferry to Paros from athens
- If you’re coming from Athens, you can take a ferry from Piraeus to Paros (3-4 hours) with Blue Star Ferries (bigger, slower) or Seajets (faster but pricier).
- There are also ferries from Mykonos, Naxos, Santorini, and other Cycladic islands to Paros if you’re island-hopping.
🛥 get a 10 minute Short Ferry from Paros to Antiparos
- Once you’re on Paros, head to Pounta Port (15 min taxi from Parikia). From there, a small ferry runs every 30 minutes to Antiparos.
- The ferry is super quick—just 7 minutes! 🚤 You can walk on or bring a car/scooter if you’re renting one.
- If you’re staying near Parikia, there’s also a passenger-only boat (25 mins) that runs from the main port in high season.
🚖 Getting Around Antiparos
Once you arrive, you can walk, rent a car, scooter, or bike. I recommend hiring a car in advance of the busy summer season.
