Best sunsets in Florence: incredible viewpoints you cant miss
I have just spent the week in Florence and have been eating gelato, trying out the incredible wine windows of florence and eating my weight in pasta.
But every single day, I made sure I was out so I could spot the best sunsets in Florence. The skyline is amazing. Frankly, it was incredible and I it was really fun to enjoy the hidden gems around Florence Town.
And at the end of the day, I’d wander around to the next sunset spot to admire the incredible Florentine skyline. No surprises – it blew me away every time. Bright orange hues, pinks, purples creeping over the sky and casting it’s unusually fantastic hues over the Duomo and the terracotta houses.

Best Sunsets in Florence
Every single day I made the effort to go admire the pinky purple sunsets in Florence and it was worth it every single time. Especially in summer, the sunsets are quite long and drawn out, so expect to watch the sun float across the sky between 6-9pm and admire that golden silky glow.

Piazzale Michelangelo
Piazzale Michelangelo at sunset is a must and should be first on your list because it has the most breathtaking panoramic views of Florence. Yes. It gets super, super busy in Summer, but you can still visit. Actually, having so many people cheering, drinking, chatting, picnicking… it’s lovely to join and watch the sunset with everyone. You get incredible views of the whole city. Standing there, you can see the entire city bathed in golden light, with the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and the Arno River all glowing beautifully. It’s a bit of a hike up the hill, but the scenery is totally worth it.
